French Far-Right Leader Bardella Asserts Support for Ukraine and Aknowledges Russia as a Threat

Leader of the French far-right, Jordan Bardella, has affirmed his commitment to Ukraine if he becomes Prime Minister following the early parliamentary elections scheduled for June 30 and July 7.

Despite President Emmanuel Macron's accusations that the "National Rally" cannot defend France due to its reliance on Moscow, Bardella stated that Russia poses a significant threat.

"I see Russia as a multi-dimensional threat both for France and Europe," the politician asserted.

"Russia is challenging French interests today. It has been doing so for months, for years in our historical sphere of influence in Africa, in the Black Sea and in our overseas territories," he said.

"I will be extremely vigilant to any attempted interference by Russia but also by any other states or powers in the world," Bardella emphasized.

He also confirmed his commitment to France's international obligations, especially regarding Ukraine, while stressing that there are limits his government will not exceed in this regard.

"While I'm in favour of continuing to support Ukraine with logistics and defence equipment, my red line remains long-range missiles or any military equipment that could lead to escalation, by which I mean anything that could directly hit Russian cities," the far-right leader noted.

Bardella also made it clear that he opposes sending French troops to Ukraine, despite previous calls from President Macron for European countries to consider such action.
