Orbán Failed to Condemn Russia's Attack on Children's Hospital, Instead Calling for "Ceasefire"

The Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán commented on the Kremlin’s attack on the Children’s Hospital “Ohmatdyt” more than a day later without mentioning Russia being behind it.
The rest of the European leaders condemned the Russian strike of "Ohmatdyt" and expressed their condolences to the victims.
Yesterday’s tragic and heinous attack in Kyiv proves that our fears were justified: as it was foreseeable, the brutality of the Russia-Ukraine war has reached a new level. This is precisely why we embarked on a peace mission 9 days ago.

The growing intensity of the war is a call…
On July 5, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán visited Russia, just days after his surprise meeting with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the first time in 14 years and since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Several EU leaders denounced Orbán’s visit to Russia.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine issued a statement emphasizing that the decision to make this trip was made by the Hungarian side without agreement or coordination with Ukraine.
