Russia Launched Massive Attack on Ukraine Overnight, 7 Killed, Including 2 Children
On the night of October 25, Russian forces launched a large-scale assault on Ukraine, employing drones (“Shaheds”) and missiles, targeting civilian areas in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kyiv Region. The attack resulted in the deaths of five people, including two children, and injuries to at least 26 civilians.
Kyiv hit by drone strike
Around 21:20, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported a drone strike in the Solomyansky district, causing an explosion that damaged a residential building. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene, evacuating about 100 residents.
The Kyiv Military Administration confirmed that a fire had broken out in the upper floors of a 25-story building, impacting floors 17 to 21. By 23:57, reports indicated five injured and one child fatality. As of the early morning of October 26, six people had been injured.
Casualties in Kyiv Region
The Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that debris from a downed drone caused a fire in a two-story garage in Irpin. A 1968-born woman succumbed to injuries, and a 13-year-old boy sustained minor injuries. Overall, 15 houses, three stores, a multi-story building, and three additional structures were damaged.
Missile Strike on Dnipro
In Dnipro, a missile strike resulted in three fatalities, including a child. By early morning on October 26, 19 people had been reported injured, four of whom are children.
Several buildings and a hospital suffered damage, with significant destruction reported across multiple locations in the city.
Update: The death toll in Dnipro has risen to five: rescuers have pulled the body of a man from the rubble.
The regional administration reported that 21 people were injured, including 7 in hospital. In particular, a 17-year-old boy who is in serious condition.
