Russian Cluster Munition Attack on Ulakly, Donetsk Region, Kills Three Civilians and Injures Five

On June 15, Russia launched an attack on the village of Ulakly in Donetsk region, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to five others, according to Governor Consequences of the attack on Ulakly. (Source: Vadym Filashkin via Telegram).

The attack, reportedly carried out with cluster munitions from a Smerch rocket launcher, occurred at approximately 9 a.m.

The victims included two women, aged 32 and 39, and a 30-year-old man. The attack also caused significant damage to infrastructure, including two administrative buildings, a house, a shop, and eight cars, Filashkin reported.

Ulakly, located in the Volnovakha district in the southwestern part of Donetsk region, has been a target of frequent Russian attacks. The region has been partially occupied since 2014 and continues to face daily assaults.

In addition to the casualties in Ulakly, six residents of Donetsk region were injured in other Russian strikes over the past day.

Ukraine has consistently accused Moscow of utilizing cluster munitions in strikes on civilian areas.
