Russian Strike Targets Vital Infrastructure in Cherkasy Region, 6 Injured

Russia carried out a missile strike on the Cherkasy region in Ukraine at 6:30 a.m. local time on April 25.

There were no reported fatalities, with 6 individuals reported to have sustained injuries and sought medical assistance.

Cherkasy region Governor Ihor Taburets confirmed that a critical infrastructure facility had been struck and damaged, but the nature of the damaged critical infrastructure facility remains undisclosed.

Serhii Ananko, Mayor of Smila, a city roughly 18 miles southwest of the regional capital Cherkasy, has confirmed the attack. Ananko mentioned six injuries, likely referring to the same missile strike.

The attack resulted in damage to 47 residences across multiple streets, as well as shattered windows in a high-rise building.

According to Air Force spokesperson Illia Yevlash, Russia targeted the city using an Iskander-K cruise missile.

All emergency services are working on-site, with assistance provided by municipal enterprises of the city.
