Ukraine received $2.2 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

On June 28, the IMF announced its approval of $2.2 billion in funding through the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) to provide budgetary support to Ukraine.

The IMF is a global organization that aims to foster sustainable growth and prosperity worldwide by endorsing economic policies that enhance financial stability and encourage monetary cooperation.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal indicated that the $2.2 billion is a part of the funding from the $16 billion EFF program.

"To receive them, Ukraine has done important work in the country and successfully passed the fourth review of the program,  for the first time in our bilateral relations with the IMF," Shmyhal wrote.

The Prime Minister added that the listed amount will help the Government finance critical budget expenditures, social benefits, and salaries of doctors and teachers.

The EFF funds are intended to help Ukraine's stability during wartime and foster economic growth.
