Iran Launches Russian Drones in Latest Attacks

The discovery of a Russian-produced Geran-2 drone in the UAE, featuring Cyrillic markings and a 2024 Kupol plant serial number, signals strengthening military ties between Russia and Iran.

Russia, which began by importing Iranian Shahed-136 drones in 2022,
is now sending its own produced Geran-2 versions back to Iran, marking a bidirectional military partnership.

 

Russia is also reportedly helping Iran apply drone tactics developed during the war in Ukraine.

 

Many of these drones still rely on Western components routed through intermediary countries.
