Over 11,500 residents sought refuge in Kyiv’s subway stations during a prolonged air raid alert that lasted over 7 hours on the night of July 31.

The Kyiv Metro system has been operating around the clock as a shelter, providing essential amenities such as seating, blankets, and mattresses for those seeking safety. However, the metro system has also faced challenges due to the extended alert, including delays in staff arriving for work.

As a result, train schedules have been disrupted and are gradually being restored. The metro authority has appealed for public understanding as they work to normalize operations.
