Adele Seen Wearing a Dress by a Russian Designer Who Also Designs Military Uniforms for Russia’s Army

At a recent 45th-anniversary concert in Las Vegas, the British singer Adele was seen wearing a dress by Russian fashion brand Valentin Yudashkin. The dress was custom-made over a two-month period.

The dress was created under the direction of Valentin Yudashkin’s daughter Galyna, who took up the position of the creative director of the brand, after Yudashkin’s death in 2023. She currently resides in Dubai, UAE, where the family’s business is officially operating.

Yudashkin was known for designing official uniforms for the Russian military, done in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense.

His designs of the military unifroms evoked associations with the Red Army and styles favored by Latin American dictators of the 1950s.

“To design the ceremonial jackets, we drew inspiration from a variety of historical uniforms, we incorporated elements from Suvorov’s army, Zhukov’s army, and the Soviet army, particularly in terms of colors and textures. For instance, the core Russian color, red, is a beautiful legacy from the Soviet era, which we complemented with blue and a deep shade of sea green,” according to Yudashkin.
