Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy finds it humiliating for the democratic world that allies intercept missiles and drones in the skies over the Middle East but have yet to make a similar decision to jointly intercept Russian missiles and Iranian drones over Ukraine.

The President stated this at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) Forum on September 13.

"If allies can collectively intercept missiles and drones in the skies over the Middle East, why is there still no similar decision to jointly intercept Russian missiles and Iranian 'Shahed' drones over Ukraine? This is not happening even when missiles and drones are heading directly towards our neighboring territories,” Zelenskyy said.

“And when we raise this issue with our partners, everyone is constantly trying to, honestly, gloss over it. They are even afraid to say 'we are working on it.' Even those words are avoided. And that’s the truth. So far, only Belarus has made a mark by intercepting Russian 'Shaheds.' I didn't think it would be in this format... I genuinely find it humiliating for a strong democratic world," the President stated.
