Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner, Dmytro Lubinets, announced Argentina's accession to the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children from Russia. Ukrainian delegation, including Lubinets' representative, recently visited Argentina and held high-level meetings advocating for this action.

"This decision aligns with President Zelensky's Peace Plan, specifically paragraph 4," Lubinets stated, referring to his responsibility as Ukraine's Ombudsman for this initiative.

"Despite the great distance between us, we are close in values on the importance of returning home all deported children," Lubinets emphasized. Argentina's support was warmly welcomed by the Ombudsman.

The International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, launched by Ukraine and Canada in February 2024, aims to bring children forcibly removed from Ukraine back to Ukrainian territories. Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly explained that Ottawa will actively engage the global network, collaborating with various countries to locate the children.

Since its inception, the Coalition has grown to include over 30 countries.

According to Ukraine's data, over 20,000 Ukrainian children have been forcibly relocated to Russia and Russian occupied territories since the beginning of full-scale war.
