British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs David Cameron has promised that Britain will provide Ukraine with £3 billion ($3.74 billion) of annual military aid for “as much as it takes.”

David Cameron announced that in an interview with the Reuters agency during an unannounced visit to Kyiv, on May 2.

“We will give £3 billion every year for as long as is necessary. We’ve just really emptied all we can in terms of giving equipment,” said Cameron, adding that the aid package was the largest from the UK so far.

On April 23 British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced the biggest military aid package for Ukraine, consisting of 60 boats, more than 400 vehicles, including 160 protected mobility ‘Husky’ vehicles, 162 armored vehicles, and 78 all-terrain vehicles, over 1,600 strike and air defense missiles and nearly four million rounds of small arms ammunition.

“Some of that (equipment) is actually arriving in Ukraine today, while I’m here,” Cameron said.

Cameron has also stated that Ukraine had a right to use the weapons provided by London to strike targets inside Russia and that it was up to Kyiv to choose whether to do so or not.
