Russia hit the village of Mohrytsia in the Sumy region on August 8 with a guided aerial bomb. A 22-year-old man and his 6-year-old sister were killed. They were in the yard of the school that was targeted by the airstrike.

The Sumy Region Military Administration stated that 56 guided aerial bombs were used against the population of the Sumy region, Shostkinskyi, Konotopskyi, Sumy and Okhtyrskyi districts. They added that the Sumy region has never experienced so many strikes by guided aerial bombs in a day.

“Unfortunately, we currently have casualties. An airstrike was carried out by anti-aircraft missile defense systems on the settlement of Mohrytsia, resulting in the death of 2 people, including a child. The enemy killed a brother and sister. The brother was 22 years old, and his younger sister was 6 years old,” the Head of the Sumy Region Military Administration Volodymyr Artyukh said on the national telethon. “In addition, we currently know about two wounded residents of other settlements of the Sumy district.”
