At a meeting of the Drone Coalition leadership group, held yesterday April 14, Ukraine briefed partners on the battlefield situation and the urgent need to repel the Russian attacks.

The Drone Coalition officially launched within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. The coalition co-leaders are the United Kingdom and Latvia. Additionally, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden have joined the Coalition.

Key Takeaways:

  • Canada will start the transfer of 450 multi-role SkyRanger UAVs in the summer;

  • Lithuania will allocate €3 million for the production of FPV drones for Ukraine;

  • The Netherlands confirmed intentions to send a batch of Heidrun RQ-35 drones worth €200 million in cooperation with Denmark and Germany;

  • Germany will transfer reconnaissance drones VECTOR 211.

"The situation on the front line is changing daily; the enemy continues to attack civilian objects, especially the energy infrastructure. We need tools for an asymmetric response. The time for decision-making is running out, we need it now," said Kateryna Chernohorenko, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, addressing the meeting participants.

Latvian Minister of Defense Andris Sprūds urged everyone present to remember every day that the war is ongoing, so it's time for all participants to join in supporting the initiative, which is gaining momentum and awaits the addition of new countries.
