Czech Prime minister Petr Fiala confirmed that the first batch of ammunition under the Czech initiative has arrived in Ukraine.

“The first shipment of ammunition from out initiative arrived in Ukraine some time ago. We are doing what it takes”, Fiala wrote on X.

In February 2024, the Czech initiative was announced to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with 50,000 to 100,000 large-caliber shells monthly.

Through the initiative, both government representatives and private entities within the Czech Republic have collaborated to procure ammunition from various global sources. Approximately 1.6 billion euros ($1.7 billion) in funding for the project has been pledged by fifteen EU and NATO member states.
