Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,090 Troops, 6 Tanks, and Over 200 Drones in One Day

Russian forces continued to suffer significant losses over the past 24 hours, with more than 1,000 troops killed or wounded, according to Ukraine’s General Staff on February 1.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that Russian losses for the day amounted to approximately 1,090 personnel, along with six tanks, three armored fighting vehicles, and nine artillery systems.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, cumulative Russian losses are estimated at:

  • personnel: about 1,240,680 (+1,090);

  • tanks: 11,625 (+6);

  • armored fighting vehicles: 23,980 (+3);

  • artillery systems: 36,777 (+9);

  • multiple launch rocket systems: 1,632 (no change);

  • air defense systems: 1,290 (no change);

  • aircraft: 435 (no change);

  • helicopters: 347 (no change);

  • operational-tactical UAVs: 120,134 (+206);

  • cruise missiles: 4,205 (no change);

  • warships and boats: 28 (no change);

  • submarines: 2 (no change);

  • military vehicles and fuel trucks: 76,439 (+62);

  • special equipment: 4,055 (+1).

The General Staff noted that combat operations continued across the front line, with Russian forces sustaining losses amid ongoing assaults and Ukrainian countermeasures. Updated operational data is released daily as fighting continues.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that rising Russian military fatalities in Ukraine are now closely matching the Kremlin’s recruitment capacity, prompting concerns that Moscow may not be able to sustain current force levels without launching another mobilization.
