Russian forces suffered 890 personnel losses over the past 24 hours, along with nine tanks and more than 40 artillery systems, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on February 22.

According to the update, total Russian combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, are estimated as follows:

The General Staff also reported 138 combat engagements along the front line over the past day.
In the North Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, one combat clash was recorded. Russian forces carried out 74 shelling attacks in the sector, including six using multiple launch rocket systems, and launched two airstrikes with four guided aerial bombs.
On the South Slobozhanskyi axis, Russian troops attempted one breakthrough near Dvorichanske. In the Kupiansk direction, four attacks were recorded near Pishchane.

Russian forces launched six assaults in the Lyman direction, attempting to advance near Hrekivka, Stavky, Drobysheve, and Masliakivka. In the Sloviansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks toward Yampil, Dronivka, and Zakytne.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, Russian troops carried out 14 attacks near Kostiantynivka, Ivanopillia, Shcherbynivka, Berestok, Rusyn Yar, Sofiivka, Novopavlivka, and Pleshchiivka.
The Pokrovsk sector saw 29 assault attempts near Shakhove, Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Molodetske, Muravka, and Novopavlivka.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, three attacks were recorded near Zaporizke.
The heaviest fighting took place in the Huliaipole direction, where 35 Russian attacks were recorded near Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Zelenе, Varvarivka, Dobropillia, Zahirne, Myrne, and Hirke.
In the Orikhiv direction, Russian forces attempted one advance near Prymorske.
Earlier, Ukrainian drones destroyed a Russian Tornado-S MLRS while it was firing toward Zaporizhzhia, according to Commander Robert “Madyar” Brovdi. The strike caused secondary detonations. Ukrainian officials say it is the fourth confirmed loss of a Smerch or Tornado-S system since 2022.
