Deadly Russian Missile Strike on High-Rise in Sumy Kills at Least 11 People, Including 2 Children, and Injures 89
Russian forces launched a missile strike on Sumy, Ukraine, hitting a nine-story building in a densely populated residential area in Sumy on November 17.
According to The prosecutor’s office of the Sumy region, at least 8 people were killed and 49 injured.
As reported by Suspilne, the head of the regional military administration, Volodymyr Artiukh, confirmed that 2 children were among the killed.
“At this time, there are reports of fatalities and injuries, including children. My condolences to the families and loved ones,” Zelenskyy wrote.
Emergency services are working on-site, and a rescue operation is underway.
At 8:47 am, the Ukrainian State Emergency Service reported that casualties spiked to 11 in the Russian strike on Sumy, with 89 people injured.
