Denmark will invest €130 million ($140 million) in supporting its companies' investments in Ukrainian defense firms, announced First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko on March 25.

Under a new program managed by the Danish Export Investment Fund (EIFO), the government will cover up to 70% of Danish companies’ investments in Ukrainian defense enterprises. The initiative aims to mitigate investment risks by providing funding of 1 billion Danish kroner (approximately €130 million).

Svyrydenko emphasized that Danish manufacturers would benefit from Ukrainian innovations and the opportunity to test weapons in real combat conditions.

EIFO has previously supported Danish and Ukrainian businesses through export credit guarantees, direct lending, and investment capital.

Earlier, Denmark’s government proposed legislation to increase penalties for violations of EU sanctions against Russia. The bill, under review, aims to impose harsher punishments, including longer prison sentences, for individuals and businesses that circumvent these restrictions.
