The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) apprehended a woman in Donetsk region in November 2024, who was leaking Ukrainian Armed Forces' position data to Russia. She has since been sentenced to 15 years in prison, with her property confiscated.

According to investigation, revealed on January 21, the woman provided Russian military forces with coordinates of Ukrainian defense positions and artillery sites on the Kramatorsk axis. This information played a crucial role in planning Russian offensive operations against Chasiv Yar.

The 51-year-old unemployed woman from Kostiantynivka came under Russian intelligence's radar after posting pro-Kremlin comments on Telegram channels. To gather intelligence, she surveyed frontline areas and documented the locations of Ukrainian military units.

She transmitted the gathered data to Russian military intelligence through a contact—a fighter from Russian-backed armed groups, whose identity was identified by the SBU.

During a search, the SBU seized her mobile phone and computer, which contained evidence of her collaboration with the Russia.

In another operation, the SBU and the National Police thwarted an attempt to assassinate a Ukrainian soldier in Zaporizhzhia. According to an SBU report, Russian intelligence services had initially lured the Ukrainian defender to an industrial zone in the city, claiming a "date" with a woman he had met on a dating site.

However, upon his arrival, the soldier was attacked by an assailant wearing a balaclava, who stabbed him six times in the neck, chest, abdomen, and right leg. The assailant fled the scene after the attack. Fortunately, the soldier survived, and the authorities successfully prevented the contract killing.

Earlier, it was reporeted that as of August 2025, SBU has uncovered 52 active-duty personnel working for Russia and dismantled multiple enemy intelligence networks since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion.
