Estonia Pledges Winter Aid and Potential Drone Production Funding for Ukraine

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv, announced a new aid package for Ukraine, along with plans for additional packages next year, funded by 0.25% of Estonia’s GDP. This support aligns with the bilateral security agreement between the two countries.
This was discussed during a meeting of Zelenskyy and Pevkur in Kyiv.
"We are very grateful to your team, your country, and your people for the substantial support provided since the start of the full-scale war," said Zelenskyy.

The upcoming military aid package for the Defense Forces ahead of winter will include essential uniforms for Ukrainian soldiers.
The meeting also emphasized Estonia’s potential to fund the production of long-range drones in Ukraine. Additionally, it highlighted the critical support from Estonia and the entire Baltic region for Ukraine’s aspirations to join the EU and NATO.
Additionally, Pevkur met with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov in Kyiv the day before. The ministers discussed the possibilities of attracting additional funding for the development of mutual defense production. Estonian partners emphasized their willingness to invest more and work on speeding up the conclusion of relevant agreements.
