For the First Time, Ukraine Showcases Drone Capable of Downing Shaheds

On April 8, for the first time, Ukraine has publicly showcased a drone designed to intercept and neutralize Russian-Iranian Shahed drones. Already in active use by the country’s defense forces, the UAV has successfully engaged Russian drones.
The Ukrainian-made drone was presented during a visit by a Belgian delegation of government officials and defense industry representatives.
According to the developers, this drone has downed more than 20 Shaheds and around 10 enemy reconnaissance UAVs over the past two months.
“This is the first and most effective drone of its kind currently in service in Ukraine,” the developers stated.
The interceptor drone operates at altitudes of up to 5 kilometers (approximately 16,404 feet) and can reach speeds of up to 200 km/h, making it a key asset in countering aerial threats.
Previously, it was reported that Ukraine established dominance in the Black Sea, preventing Russian forces from approaching its shores and ensuring civilian shipping routes, according to Vice Admiral Oleksii Neizhpapa, commander of the Ukrainian Navy.
