German Minister for Economic Affairs Makes Surprise Visit to Kyiv Ahead of Ukraine Recovery Conference

Sven Schulze, German Minister for Economic Affairs, arrived in Kyiv with an unannounced visit.

The Minister’s visit is in preparation for the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which is expected to gather about 1500 participants, including heads of state and government, in Berlin on June 11 and 12.

According to German publications, Schulze’s negotiations in Kyiv will focus, among other things, on the expansion of the Ukrainian electricity grid with the help of Germany and the training of skilled workers.

“People here are rebuilding their country every day, they are not giving up. Therefore, it is very important that there is not only support with weapons but also support for civilian reconstruction,” Schulze said.
