Germany delivered its sixth IRIS-T air defense system to Ukraine on December 20 as part of its military aid. This was announced by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at a briefing following the European Council meeting in Brussels.

The information was shared by the monitoring project German Aid to Ukraine on social media platform X.

This delivery of the air defense system was announced in November by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a call with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

It is worth noting, however, that Scholz did not specify which particular system is being referred to – whether it is the SLS or SLM.

German media reported on December 15 that the Social Democratic Party has opposed the delivery of Taurus missiles to Ukraine in its party program, according to a leaked draft.
