Latvian President: Ukraine’s Path to Victory Lies in EU and NATO Membership
Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs expressed his perspective on Ukraine’s path to victory during his participation in the StratCom Dialogue security forum in Riga.
Rinkēvičs emphasized that Ukraine’s success should be rooted in President Zelenskyy’s Peace Formula and should entail the country’s eventual membership in both the European Union and NATO.
Journalists asked the President of Latvia what exactly he meant by Ukraine’s victory, which he mentioned in his speech at the forum.
“I have a very simple answer to your question. We support President Zelenskyy’s peace formula. That’s the first thing,” Rinkēvičs noted.
“Secondly, Ukraine should become a member of the EU and NATO. That’s what full victory for us will mean in this war,” he concluded.
Rinkēvičs' remarks underscored Latvia’s stance on Ukraine’s strategic goals and its vision for the country’s future amidst ongoing war.
