A powerful explosion occurred in the Kirzhach district of Vladimir region, according to the region's governor, Alexander Avdeev. The explosion reportedly took place at the 51st ammunition depot of the Russian Ministry of Defense's Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate, local channels reported.

The depot is said to contain over 100,000 tons of munitions, including artillery shells, rockets for multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), components for air defense systems, and tactical missiles such as the Tochka-U.

Local channels and social media outlets have shared videos showing significant smoke rising from the explosion site. The Telegram channel "Ostorozhno, Novosti" claims that residents are being evacuated from the nearby Barsovo settlement.

It also highlights the proximity of the explosion to the Russian Ministry of Defense's rocket and artillery depot. Furthermore, the road from Moscow to Kirzhach has been blocked.

Ukrainian news outlet Exilenova+ also reports that the explosion occurred at the 51st arsenal of the Russian Ministry of Defense’s Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate, a site allegedly involved in the logistics of military cargo shipments from Belarus.

Earlier on April 19, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted a precision strike on a Russian drone operations facility near the village of Tyotkino in Russia’s Kursk region, according to a statement from Ukraine’s General Staff.
