Massive Explosion Rocks Ukrainian Zhytomyr, Possible Gas Station Blast Reported

A loud explosion was reported in the city of Zhytomyr on the evening of July 2, according to sources in Ukrainian law enforcement cited by RBC-Ukraine.

As of 18:40 local time, authorities confirmed the incident but have not released official details regarding the cause or possible casualties. The nature and source of the explosion remain under investigation.

According to multiple Ukrainian Telegram channels, video footage circulating online shows a large plume of smoke rising into the sky shortly after the blast. Some users allege that a gas station may have been the source of the explosion. However, this information has not been officially verified.

Authorities have not yet commented on whether there are any injuries or structural damage.
