North Korea Expected to Send More Troops to Russia for War in Ukraine Within the Next Two Months

North Korea may deploy additional troops to Russia as early as July or August to support Moscow’s war against Ukraine, and it continues to supply arms to Russian forces, according to South Korean lawmakers briefed by the country’s intelligence agency.
This was reported by Reuters on June 26.
South Korean Member of Parliament Lee Seong-kweun said the National Intelligence Service (NIS) believes Russia is preparing for a large-scale assault in the coming weeks — and Pyongyang may be stepping up its involvement.
“The timing of the additional deployment is that it could be as early as July or August,” Lee told reporters, citing recent troop mobilizations in North Korea and a high-level visit to Pyongyang by a top Russian security official.

In return for sending artillery and missiles to Russia, North Korea is likely receiving technical support for its satellite and missile programs, the NIS said.
According to Reuters, after months of silence, both Russia and North Korea have begun to publicly acknowledge the presence of North Korean troops in Ukraine — including their role in Moscow’s efforts to retake the Kursk region.
Earlier, it was reported that the two vessels, both belonging to the new Choe Hyon-class, were launched in April and May of this year. The May launch ended in failure when the ship capsized during its debut ceremony — an event attended by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
