Vladimir Putin informed Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Friday, July 5 that he was prepared to discuss building bilateral relations and the nuances of peace initiatives aimed at resolving the war in Ukraine.

Orbán’s visit to Moscow is taking place on July 5, the fifth day of Hungary’s presidency of the Council of the EU.

During their meeting at the Kremlin, Putin expressed willingness to hear Orbán’s stance on Ukraine and to receive insights from Orbán regarding the perspectives of other European allies.

"I hope we will have an opportunity to exchange views on building bilateral relations in this difficult situation and, of course, to talk about the prospects for the development of the biggest European crisis, I mean in the Ukrainian direction," Putin stated to Orbán.
