Over 3,000 children and young people from 60 different countries have reportedly vacationed at the “Artek”  children's camp in Crimea, which is under temporary Russian occupation. Among them were children from Germany, France, and Finland.

This was reported by German media t-online.

Initial details about European children vacationing in Crimea emerged through a broadcast on Finnish television. Russian organizers openly posted photos on Artek's social media accounts. Additionally, Russian state TV channel Russia Today and various participants and organizations circulated images and information about the German children at the camp.

The report noted that the Russian House in Paris also shared photos. Meanwhile, representatives of the Russian House in Berlin and the Russian embassy in Berlin claimed to have no knowledge of German children vacationing there and directed journalists to Artek's representatives, who did not respond to inquiries.

Photographs from the camp showed German children interacting with members of the "United Russia" party and Russian military personnel involved in war crimes in Ukraine, including mercenaries from the Wagner Group.

It remains unclear how the German children reached occupied Crimea, as legal entry into the region is only permitted through Ukrainian territory.

Located at the base of Mount Ayu-Dag in Crimea, this children’s center was founded in 1925. During the Soviet Union, "Artek" was a well-known and prestigious pioneer camp, hosting up to 27,000 children each year. It was the only children's center in the world to be given the status "Under the auspices of UNESCO."
