President Zelenskyy Appoints Valerii Zaluzhnyi as Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK

On Thursday, March 7, 2024, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved the candidacy of Valerii Zaluzhnyi for the position of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a corresponding request for agrément to the British side.

“General Valerii Zaluzhnyi spoke to me precisely about such a direction for himself — diplomatic,” Zelenskyy said in his evening video address.

Zaluzhnyi’s new appointment comes following his dismissal from the post of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on February 8, 2024.
