Russia Attacks Clearly Marked UN Aid Convoy Bringing Aid to Civilians in Kherson

Russian forces attacked a humanitarian mission in the Kherson region on the morning of October 14, targeting United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) trucks, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Prokudin said that the strike occurred in the Bilozerka community, where the vehicles, clearly marked with UN insignia, came under fire from drones and artillery. “Russia once again showed its true, repulsive face by attacking a humanitarian mission,” he stated. “Four white vehicles with markings were not military equipment—they were carrying aid for civilians.”

According to the regional administration, one truck was burned completely and another sustained severe damage, while two others managed to escape. “It is a miracle that no one was injured,” Prokudin added.

Babel also reported that the targeted vehicles belonged to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and that the attack caused significant material losses but no human casualties.

This incident marks another deliberate strike on humanitarian operations in southern Ukraine. In June, Russian shelling damaged a Red Cross warehouse in Kherson, destroying over 100 tons of aid.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces attacked a humanitarian evacuation vehicle in Donetsk region during Easter using FPV drones, injuring civilians.
