As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, 3,798 educational institutions were damaged by shelling and bombing, of which 365 were completely destroyed.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets. He published the relevant data on Monday, September 2, at the start of the new academic year in Ukraine.

"Due to Russian aggression, 3,798 educational institutions suffered from bombings and shelling. 365 of them were completely destroyed," wrote Lubinets.

Lubinets emphasized that Russia purposely targets learning facilities.

“The aggressor country deliberately targets educational institutions: kindergartens, schools, universities. Even though they know that there may be children there,” Lubinets added.

Today, on September 2, despite Russia’s shelling, and destruction of schools and energy infrastructure, the new school year began in Ukraine.
