Throughout the previous year, Russia’s army sustained 430,790 casualties (both killed and wounded)—the equivalent of nearly 36 motorized rifle divisions. These losses exceeded the combined total for 2022 and 2023.

In December 2024, Russian forces suffered record monthly losses, with 48,670 personnel— the highest since the invasion began. November 2024 previously held the record at 45,720.

• 3,689 destroyed and damaged Russian tanks—equivalent to 119 tank battalions.

  The most significant month was May, with 428 tanks eliminated, including 31 in a single day on May 12—enough to match the size of a tank battalion, the Ministry stated.

• 8,956 destroyed and damaged Russian armored vehicles—equivalent to over 37 motorized rifle divisions.

  October saw the highest toll, with 923 vehicles neutralized, costing the Russian budget at least half a billion dollars. The record was set on November 12, with 81 armored vehicles eliminated.

• 13,050 artillery units were hit by the Ukrainian forces, enough for 725 artillery divisions.

  The Russian army suffered its heaviest artillery losses in July, with 1,520 artillery systems destroyed. This is the highest monthly artillery loss since the start of the full-scale invasion.

• 313 destroyed multiple-launch rocket systems and 407 air defense systems.

  In November 2024, the highest number of Russian vehicles of various types since February 2022 was recorded—2,469 destroyed or damaged.

On December 31, the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that throughout 2024, they successfully intercepted more than 1,300 missiles and 11,200 attack drones launched by Russian forces in their attempts to target the country.
