Russia Gears Up Strategic Reserves for Wider War, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Sybiha Warns

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has urged Ukraine’s international partners to treat sanctions as a form of economic warfare against Russia. The statement was published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 13.
“According to our intelligence, Russia is forming strategic reserves—an indication that it is preparing for military operations not only in Ukraine,” Sybiha said. “Our allies must fully mobilize diplomatic efforts to stop this war. This is not just about Ukraine. Putin understands only force, which is why timely and forceful sanctions are essential to apply economic pressure on Russia.”
Sybiha called on the international community to relaunch the process of officially designating Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism.

“Moscow’s response to our peace proposals and collective peace efforts has been escalation and terror. Now is the time to renew the push for Russia to be recognized as a terrorist state,” Sybiha said.
Addressing Ukraine’s partners, he added: “Let’s stop thinking about what Putin wants and start focusing on what we can do now to force him to choose peace.”
On June 10, Bruno Kahl, head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service, warned that Russia intends to test NATO’s resolve by expanding its confrontation with the West beyond Ukraine.
