Russia Launches Mass Drone Strike on Civilian Infrastructure in Dnipro, At Least One Killed

Russian forces launched a drone attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro and its surrounding areas. The strikes also targeted the Nikopol and Synelnykove regions. As a result, one person was killed, and 10 others were injured on the night of July 17.
According to the head of the Dnipro Regional State Administration, Serhiy Lysak, the region faced a large-scale attack, with drones hitting civilian infrastructure. In Dnipro, several fires were triggered, and damage was inflicted on businesses.
Lysak confirmed that one person was killed in the city, and five others were hospitalized. Three of the injured are in serious condition, while a 70-year-old man is being treated at home.
The attack also targeted nearby areas in the Dnipro region, particularly the Solonyansky and Slobozhansky communities, where agricultural structures and greenhouses were damaged.

In the Nikkopol district, Russian forces used FPV drones and Grad MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket Systems) to strike civilian targets, including the Nikkopol and Marhanets communities. As a result, five people were injured, all were hospitalized in moderate condition. A car was also set on fire, and a private home and a farm building were severely damaged.
In the Mezhivska community of the Synelnykove district, the attack involved FPV drones, which caused damage to local infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s air defense forces successfully intercepted 22 Russian drones over the Dnipropetrovsk region, preventing further damage and loss of life, Lysak claims.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia launched a massive drone strike targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, affecting regions including Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Kharkiv, and Odesa. President Zelenskyy called for enhanced air defenses to mitigate such attacks.
