Russia Reportedly Uses ATBIP-9000 Thermobaric Bomb for the First Time in Vovchansk
UPD. The information about the alleged use of the Russian ATBIP-9000 air bomb in Vovchansk, Kharkiv region, is not accurate, according to the "Kharkiv" operational-tactical group.
"A specific carrier, such as the Tu-160 strategic bomber, is required to deploy this type of munition. However, no movement of such aircraft has been detected. Instead, a smaller, less powerful munition was used, which propagandists exploited to create a more 'dramatic' image," said Vitalii Sarantsev, spokesperson for the group.
Russian media shared a video of the Russian forces supposedly using an ATBIP-9000 vacuum bomb in Vovchansk, Ukraine’s Kharkiv region.
Russian Telegram channels report that Russia used the ATBIP-9000 bomb which is nicknamed “father of all bombs“ and is claimed to be the most powerful non-nuclear weapon in the world. The bomb weighs around 7,100 kg and reportedly has an explosive yield equivalent to 44 tons of TNT.
Ukrainian authorities have not commented on these claims.
Previously, on September 14, former Russian President Dimitri Medvedev said what could be perceived as a threat to use the “Father of All Bombs” in Ukraine.
“What arrogant Anglo-Saxon dimwits fail to admit, though, is that you can only test someone’s patience for so long. It will turn out in the end that certain moderate Western analysts were right when they warned: ‘True, the Russians are not likely to use this response, although… it’s still a possibility. Besides, they may use new delivery vehicles with conventional payloads.’ And then – it’s over. A giant blot of molten-grey mass in the place where ‘the mother of Russian cities’ once stood. Holy shit, it’s impossible, but it happened…”
