Russian Ministry of Defense Releases Outdated Videos to Imitate Success in Kursk
The Russian Ministry of Defense is releasing old videos intended to highlight alleged successes of the Russian army on the Kursk front in battles against Ukrainian forces. On August 10, the state news agency RIA Novosti, citing the Ministry of Defense, published a video showing "Russian Mi-28NM helicopters striking Ukrainian personnel and armored vehicles with S-13 air-to-ground rockets in a border area of Kursk region." However, the video was actually filmed in Kreminna and Chasiv Yar.
The day before, on August 9, the Ministry of Defense released a video depicting alleged new strikes by Russian forces against Ukrainian troops in Sumy region.
"A crew of a multifunctional supersonic Su-34 bomber from the Aerospace Forces conducted a strike on a concentration of Ukrainian personnel and military equipment at a temporary deployment point identified in one of the areas of Sumy region, which borders Kursk region."
However, this video was filmed a while ago and published by TASS on July 14.
On the 6th of August, the Governor of Russia’s Kursk Region declared a state of emergency due to Ukrainian forces reportedly entering the region. By August 9, Russian media confirmed the presence of Ukrainian troops in the district center of Sudzha. According to Russian Telegram channels, after the arrival of Russian Federation reserves, it was possible to localize the Ukrainian "combat reconnaissance patrols" and stabilize the situation. At the same time, reports indicate that Ukrainian forces are attempting to advance towards Rylsk.
Several Russian Telegram channels are reporting that Ukrainian forces are already consolidating their positions and organizing supplies, and some Russian war correspondents confirmed the presence of Ukrainian troops in Snahost, Olgovka, and Mirny, and write about ongoing battles for Martynovka.
