On October 6, Russian military forces targeted the Pivdennyi port in Odesa region, Ukraine, damaging the civilian ship PARESA, which is registered under the flag of Saint Kitts and Nevis.
This was announced on October 7 by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. The vessel was carrying approximately 6,000 tons of Ukrainian corn intended for export. All 15 crew members, who are citizens of Egypt and Syria, were unharmed in the attack.

According to Oleksiy Kuleba, Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, these assaults aim to disrupt the operations of Ukraine’s maritime food corridor and threaten global food security.
