Russia Strikes Odesa Mid-Day, Killing 10 and Injuring 47, Including 4 Children; Missile Found in School
Russia launched a missile attack on Odesa, killing at least 8 people and injuring 18, including a child, reported the head of the Odesa Regional Administration Oleh Kiper on November 18.
“Civilian infrastructure has been damaged, including residential buildings,” Kiper said.
At 1:04 pm Kiper added that at least 18 people were injured in the Russian attack, including a child. 4 people are in a critical condition.
Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko who is on the site of the attack, reported that Russia killed at least 8 people in the attack.
Emergency services are actively working at the scene to provide aid and assess the damage. Local authorities have urged residents to remain in shelters and follow safety instructions amid the ongoing threat of further strikes.
“These are not random strikes — these are demonstrative strikes. After calls and meetings with Putin, after all the false gossip in the media about allegedly ‘refraining’ from strikes. Russia is showing what it is really interested in: only war. And this message should be heard in all parts of the world, from the halls where the G20 members meet to all the capitals of the world,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commenting Russian attack.
At 2 pm Kiper reported that 39 people, including 4 children aged 7, 10, and 2 11-year-olds were wounded in the Russian attack.
At 2:30 pm Ukrainian Police reported that the number of people killed by a Russian strike rose to 10.
At 2:50 pm Ukrainian SES reported that the Russian strike wounded 43 people.
Oleh Kiper at 4:18 pm wrote, “So far, the number of wounded has reached 47 people.”
A day of mourning has been declared in Odesa and the region tomorrow, November 19,” he added.
