On Sunday, May 5, Russia fired five missiles at the Sloviansk Thermal Power Station on the territory of Mykolaivets in the Donetsk Region.

It was reported by Volodymyr Proskunin, Deputy Head of Mykolaivets City Military Administration.

“Today, May 5, at 10:35 a.m., the shelling of the Sloviansk Thermal Power Station of Donbasenergo began. During the shelling, several objects on the station’s territory were damaged,” said the Deputy Head.

According to Proskunin, the Russian military struck the plant with four Smerch cluster missiles and one fougasse missile.

Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure during the spring. In late March, Russia destroyed all electrical substations in Kharkiv, severely disrupting power supplies.
