Russian Artillery Attack on Nikopol Kills 2 and Injures 2 More
On May 9th, Governor Serhii Lysak confirmed a Russian artillery attack on the city of Nikopol in Ukraine’s Dnipro region. Two civilians were killed in the attack: a 62-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman. Two additional men, aged 39 and 67, sustained injuries.
The artillery strike caused damage to civilian infrastructure. Affected targets include two residences, a gas pipeline, a shop, agricultural structures, and five apartment buildings.
Nikopol, located in southeastern Ukraine near the Kakhovka Reservoir, is a frequent target of Russian attacks due to its proximity to Russian-occupied Enerhodar and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
