Russian Drone Barrage on Zaporizhzhia Injures 29 Civilians, Damages School and Homes

On May 1, Russia launched a large-scale drone attack on the city of Zaporizhzhia, targeting multiple locations.
Media reports indicate at least 10 drone strikes, causing significant damage to residential areas and a local educational institution.
According to Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, “61-year-old man was killed in the Russian shelling of Zaporizhzhia. There are people trapped under the rubble. There are also injured.”
In an update, Fedorov stated, “The number of those affected by the enemy attack on Zaporizhzhia has risen to four. The Russians targeted private homes, high-rise buildings, educational institutions, and infrastructure objects. Preliminary reports suggest there are people trapped under the debris.”
UPD. As of 7 am, on May 2, Fedorov reported that 29 people were injured as a result of a massive Russian drone strike on Zaporizhzhia. The 61-year-old man who was earlier proclaimed dead, was found under the rubble alive.
Russian strike damaged 27 high-rise buildings and 10 private homes and destroyed the buildings of Ukrzaliznytsia’s locomotive repair plant, a civilian enterprise specializing in the repair of passenger electric locomotives.
Previously, it was reported that Russian forces launched a drone attack on Odesa on May 1, damaging residential buildings and killing at least two people and injuring 15 others.
