On July 29, Ukraine reported that Russian forces had resumed attacks toward Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region after a "long pause."

Dmytro Lykhovyi, spokesperson for the Tavria group of forces, stated on national TV that Russian troops had launched assaults from two different fronts. Specifically, they attacked from the village of Reshetylivske toward Huliaipole.

“Some reports said that it could be a major offensive with the formation of an offensive group, but according to our intelligence, it is a continuation of the tactics of small assault actions, because the total numbers of the Russian group in Zaporizhzhia region has not changed in terms of the number of troops,” Lykhovyi states.

The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces, in its morning report on July 29, confirmed that Russian forces are continuing their efforts to push Ukrainian troops out of positions in the Orikhiv and Huliaipole directions. The report highlighted ongoing battles near Mala Tokmachka, Huliaipole, Novodanylivka, and Novoandriivka.

“Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to inflict significant losses on the Russian forces in terms of personnel and equipment through active actions, exhausting the enemy along the entire line of confrontation. Overall, over the past day, the losses of the Russian troops amounted to 1,310 personnel,” the report stated.
