Russian Guided Bomb Strike on Kharkiv Kills at Least 6 Civilians and Injures 97
On August 30, Russia launched a guided aerial bomb attack on Kharkiv, Ukraine, resulting in killing at least 6 people, including a 14-year-old girl, and injuring 97.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy addressed the attack, stating, “This strike was done using a Russian guided aerial bomb. A strike that could have been avoided if our Defense Forces had the ability to destroy Russian military aircraft at their bases. We need strong solutions from our partners to stop this terror. This is an absolutely fair need. And there is no rational reason to limit Ukraine’s defense. We need long-range capabilities. We need the implementation of agreements on air defense for Ukraine. It is about saving lives.”
In the Nemyshlianskyi district, the attack claimed the life of a 14-year-old girl on a playground. Four other people were also killed.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Region State Administration, reported that 97 people were injured in the strike.
31.08 UPDATE: According to him, as of the morning of August 31, 97 people were injured in the Russia’s attack on Kharkiv, including 22 minors. Later, Siniehubov added that five children were in satisfactory condition, and a 17-year-old girl was in serious condition.
According to updated law enforcement data, 6 people died in Kharkiv: a girl of 18, a girl of 14, a 74-year-old woman, a 73-year-old woman, a 49-year-old man and a woman who was the last to be unblocked, the data is being established.
