Russian Military Jet Yak-130 Crashes in Volgograd Region
A Russian Yak-130 military aircraft has crashed in the Volgograd region, with the pilot managing to eject before the impact, Russian 112 Telegram channel reported on October 10.
The aircraft went down in Kalmykia, approximately 40 kilometers from the city of Elista. The pilot, who successfully ejected, sustained injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Volgograd by helicopter.
The crash occurred during a training flight, as confirmed by the regional prosecutor’s office. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the incident, with early reports suggesting a technical malfunction as the leading theory.
Earlier, Ukrainian troops in the eastern region of Ukraine captured a rare Russian Okhotnik stealth drone that crashed near Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region. This drone boasts a wingspan of 65 feet and has a jet-powered design, is one of the limited number of units in existence.
