The air raid alert in the region lasted for ten minutes, from 15:47 to 15:57. The military had warned of a potential threat from ballistic weaponry.

This attack is part of a broader pattern of strikes. Earlier in the night and morning of August 20, Russian forces attempted to strike Kyiv region using drone and missile attacks, all of which were intercepted by air defense systems. Additionally, during the night of August 20, Russian forces targeted Ternopil with Shahed drones, causing a fire at an industrial facility.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 564 children have been killed and at least 1,487 have been injured in Ukraine.
