Ukrainian Intelligence reports that the personnel of the Russian military in Syria are in a state of demoralization due to the successes of opposition forces, including the capture of Aleppo, ongoing battles in the Hama region, and advances toward Homs.

HUR  stated that the Syrian government army and the Russian military units are suffering heavy losses, abandoning their positions, and leaving behind weapons and equipment, “their retreat appears chaotic and disorganized.”

Arabic-Russian interpreters are reportedly being urgently dispatched to the city of Hama, where clashes are ongoing—likely to assist Russian officers attempting to restore order among Bashar al-Assad's troops. Planned rotations of Russian troops in Syria have also been suspended.

Additionally, HUR stated that Russia’s leadership has decided to send mercenaries from "private military companies" to Syria.

“Fighters, likely from the so-called ‘African Corps,’ are expected to arrive soon,” HUR’s statement concluded.

The Syrian opposition forces are advancing toward the northern city of Hama after capturing Aleppo in a swift offensive initiated last week.

On December 2, Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement condemning the Assad regime, denouncing its complicity in the ongoing suffering of the Syrian people and accusing it of transforming Syria into a battleground for authoritarian powers, particularly Russia and Iran.
