Russia’s Kavkazskaya Oil Depot in Krasnodar Fire Rages for a Week After Drone Attack

The fire at the oil depot near the village of Kavkazskaya in the Krasnodar region has been burning for a week, Meduza reported on March 25, citing the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region.
According to the Krasnodar region authorities, open flames at the oil depot near the village of Kavkazskaya had been extinguished.
However, the fire has not been fully eliminated yet. Firefighters are using foam to prevent the flames from reigniting, the operational headquarters reported. A total of 340 personnel and 122 units of equipment are involved in the firefighting efforts.
The fire began on March 19, after a drone attack targeted a pipeline complex that transports oil to Novorossiysk for export. Local residents reported seeing a massive fire erupted at the facility shortly after the drones hit.
On March 20, Ukraine’s Armed Forces confirmed a successful strike on Russia’s Engels Airbase in the Saratov region, targeting a storage facility containing Kh-101 cruise missiles used by Russian bombers to attack Ukraine.
