Spain to deliver an additional battery of the Hawk anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine. The delivery is scheduled for September 2024.
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of Spain Margarita Robles on Wednesday, July 24, during a videoconference with her counterpart the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
“The Minister also announced to Minister Umerov the upcoming shipment of the necessary material so that Ukraine will have a fully operational Hawk anti-aircraft battery in September, which will increase the air defense capacity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” states a press release on the Spanish Ministry of Defense website.
Robles also spoke about the important progress in the training of the Ukrainian military in Spain, the number of which has reached 5,000.
On July 15, Spain’s Ministry of Defense announced a new shipment of military aid to Ukraine, including ten refurbished Leopard 2A4 tanks.
